Please read carefully before proceeding.
Camrose Animal Alliance Rescue Society (“CAARS”) places cats and dogs into foster homes to provide temporary care until they find permanent homes. Many animals in care are strays or surrendered animals with unknown medical, behavioral, or vaccination histories. By agreeing to foster, you acknowledge that fostering animals involves inherent risks.
These risks may include, but are not limited to:
* Bites, scratches, or other injuries
* Exposure to illness or parasites such as fleas, worms, mites, ringworm, feline coronavirus, panleukopenia, canine parvovirus (parvo), kennel cough, and other viral or bacterial infections
* Illness or injury to yourself, members of your household, visitors, or your own pets
* Property damage
* Emotional distress related to illness, injury, or loss of a foster animal or personal pet
CAARS makes reasonable efforts to assess animals and share known medical or behavioral information; however, CAARS cannot guarantee the health, temperament, or behavior of any foster cat or dog. Illness or injury may still occur despite reasonable precautions.
Acceptance of Risk
By fostering, you acknowledge that participation is voluntary and that you knowingly accept all risks associated with fostering, including risks to yourself, members of your household, visitors, and any personal pets in your care.
Medical Costs for Personal Pets
You understand and agree that you are solely responsible for all veterinary care and medical expenses for your own pets, including testing, treatment, emergency care, or ongoing costs that may result from exposure to a foster animal. CAARS does not reimburse or cover medical expenses for personal pets.
Release of Liability
By agreeing to foster, you release and waive any claims against Camrose Animal Alliance Rescue Society, its directors, officers, volunteers, employees, and agents (“CAARS”) for any injury, illness (including death), property damage, financial loss, or loss of personal pets that may occur as a result of fostering. This includes claims related to negligence and applies whether risks are known or unknown.
No Guarantees
You understand that CAARS makes no guarantees regarding the health, vaccination status, behavior, or long-term outcome of any foster cat or dog.
